SANGCHRIS ENERGY CENTER
The Sangchris Energy Center is a proposed 300 megawatt / 1200 megawatt-hour energy storage project that will interconnect to an existing transmission line approximately 3 miles south of the Kincaid Power Station. At peak output, this project will discharge the electricity necessary to power nearly 100,000 homes for a 4-hour period.
The project will be sited on approximately 45-acres of farmland south of the County Rd 1400 North and east of County Rd 150 E.
Notice of County Board Meeting
On November 29th, the Christian County Zoning Board of Appeals recommended the approval of the Sangchris Energy Center’s application for a special use permit. This approval came with conditions from the Board requiring exhaustive studies of project property drainage and mine subsidence risks and the development of a County approved Emergency Response Plan.
This recommendation moves to the County Board which shall meet on December 19th to address the item. Please use the information below if you would like to attend the meeting and reach out to sangchris@eastpointenergy.com with any questions.
